This notice explains what NFI collects through the website and how that information is used.
Effective date: August 8, 2026
New Foundations Initiative may collect information you provide through account registration, assistance applications, volunteer forms, contractor or sponsor forms, contact messages, newsletter signup, document uploads, and other website forms. Depending on the form, this may include contact information, household and property details, service needs, eligibility information, signatures, uploaded documents, and communications with NFI.
The website also uses a session cookie needed for account security, form progress, and sign-in. Basic technical information such as an IP address and browser information may be used for security, rate limiting, audit records, and signed form records.
NFI uses submitted information to respond to inquiries, review requests, coordinate volunteers and partners, manage accounts and documents, communicate about application status, protect the website, maintain records, and operate the organization’s programs.
NFI does not sell personal information. Information may be shared with staff, authorized volunteers, service providers, or project partners when reasonably necessary to review a request, coordinate approved work, operate the website, process a donation, comply with law, or protect people and systems. Payment and widget information handled by Stripe or Givebutter is processed under the selected provider’s own privacy terms; NFI does not receive full payment-card numbers through this website.
Applications and uploads may contain sensitive personal information. Access is limited through account and administrative controls. Please submit only information requested by NFI and avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information through ordinary email.
NFI asks applicants for permission to photograph and document property conditions and repair work for application review, project planning, safety, grant reporting, and internal records. Permission to use approved property or repair photos and an approved version of an applicant’s story in public updates, fundraising, or outreach is a separate choice. Choosing no does not affect eligibility. NFI will not publish an applicant’s name or identifying personal details without separate approval. Applicants may contact NFI to change their preference for future public use.
NFI keeps information for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, operational records, safety, dispute resolution, and legal obligations. Security measures reduce risk but no website or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
You may contact NFI to ask about correcting account information, withdrawing a draft request, or asking questions about personal information. Some records may need to be retained for operational, legal, or safety reasons.
