New Foundations Initiative focuses on elderly and disabled neighbors, veterans, and families living with unsafe housing conditions who may fall outside traditional assistance programs. Every request is reviewed individually.

NFI serves Choctaw, Harrah, McLoud, Nicoma Park, and eastern Oklahoma City in Eastern Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.

NFI focuses on critical safety and livability needs such as roofs, floors, bathrooms, windows, accessibility barriers, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. The final scope depends on an assessment, available funding, materials, volunteers, and qualified trades.

There is no fee to submit an application. Any project cost depends on the approved scope, funding, materials, and partner capacity. NFI will explain any homeowner responsibility before work is approved; applying does not commit you to a cost.

Choose the Home Repair Assistance form on the Apply for Help page. Tell NFI about the household, property, repair need, and urgency. No account is required to start, and a draft can be saved and resumed.

Yes. Contact NFI or help the person begin an application with their permission. The resident or property owner may still need to provide details, consent, and access for an assessment.

Not necessarily. The application asks whether you own, rent, or have another living arrangement so NFI can review the property situation and required permissions.

Renters may apply if they have or can obtain the landlord's written permission for repair work. An application does not guarantee that a project will be accepted.

There is no fixed timeline. Review and scheduling depend on urgency, safety risk, project scope, funding, materials, volunteers, and qualified trade availability. NFI follows up as capacity allows.

NFI reviews the request, service area, repair need, and household information. The team may ask for more details or arrange a site assessment before deciding whether the work fits current resources and priorities.

The application asks about other housing grants or assistance so NFI understands the full situation. NFI does not promise grant approval, but the team may point applicants toward other resources when appropriate.

Yes. Experienced tradespeople are valuable, but NFI also needs people for hospitality, cleanup, logistics, outreach, and general project support. Volunteer assignments are matched to ability and project needs.
