Common Questions

Home repair help, clearly explained.

Quick answers about eligibility, service areas, repairs, cost, and applying.

Who does NFI help?

New Foundations Initiative focuses on elderly and disabled neighbors, veterans, and families living with unsafe housing conditions who may fall outside traditional assistance programs. Every request is reviewed individually.

What areas do you serve?

NFI serves Choctaw, Harrah, McLoud, Nicoma Park, and eastern Oklahoma City in Eastern Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.

What kinds of repairs do you do?

NFI focuses on critical safety and livability needs such as roofs, floors, bathrooms, windows, accessibility barriers, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. The final scope depends on an assessment, available funding, materials, volunteers, and qualified trades.

Does it cost the homeowner anything?

There is no fee to submit an application. Any project cost depends on the approved scope, funding, materials, and partner capacity. NFI will explain any homeowner responsibility before work is approved; applying does not commit you to a cost.

How do I apply for help?

Choose the Home Repair Assistance form on the Apply for Help page. Tell NFI about the household, property, repair need, and urgency. No account is required to start, and a draft can be saved and resumed.

Can I nominate someone else?

Yes. Contact NFI or help the person begin an application with their permission. The resident or property owner may still need to provide details, consent, and access for an assessment.

First Official Community Project

Helping restore the Choctaw Senior Center.

The Choctaw Senior Center gives local seniors a place for connection, meals, and daily activities. NFI is preparing repair and improvement work to help make that space safer, more comfortable, and more welcoming.

Our team has completed a walkthrough, documented existing conditions, and identified areas that need attention. We are now developing a responsible scope of work and organizing the volunteers, contractors, sponsors, materials, and funding needed to move forward.

Experience Behind the Mission

Repair work showed what safe housing can change.

This before-and-after documents repair experience from before NFI was formed. Work like this helped the team see how many neighbors live with unsafe conditions and limited options.

It is shown as background to the mission, not as a completed NFI-funded project.
